Kemudian Pinocchio pergi untuk membeli buku baru. Tapi beliau berjumpa Rubah dan Kucing di tengah jalan. Mereka menyambutnya ramah “Hei Pinocchio Jika uangmu semakin banyak, pasti ayahmu akan bahagia,!” kata rubah. “Bagaimana mampu menjadi lebih banyak dari ini? Karena saya ingin berbelanja baju gres untuk ayah saya” tanya Pinokio. “Itu sangat gampang. Kamu mampu menempatkannya di bawah pohon gila dan menunggu ia hingga berkembang” kata kucing. Kemudian mereka mengirim Pinocchio ke pohon gila. Setelah datang di pohon gila, Pinocchio mengubur uangnya di bawah pohon gila dan beliau tertidur. Setelah itu, Pinocchio melanjutkan perjalanan ke sekolah tetapi Pinocchio melihat area bermain. Dia tidak mampu menahan keinginannya untuk masuk ke dalam dan lupa janjinya untuk peri. Akhirnya, Pinocchio tiba dan bermain di sekeliling taman. Pinocchio sedang bersenang-senang, dan tiba-datang, ia terkejut ketika menyaksikan wajahnya di cermin. “Ah! Kenapa pendengaran saya terlihat seperti indera pendengaran keledai! Saya juga memiliki ekor!” Dia berteriak. Semua bawah umur yang sedang bermain di taman bermain telah berubah menjadi keledai alasannya adalah mereka sudah dikutuk oleh penyihir jahat. Akhirnya Pinocchio menjadi keledai dan beliau dijual ke sirkus.
Di sana beliau selalu dicambuk, dan harus melompati bulat api yang panas. Meskipun ia ialah rasa takut, Pinokio masih melompat. Akhirnya dia terjatuh dan kakinya patah. Pemilik sirkus menjadi marah. “Lebih baik aku melemparkan Kamu ke bahari!” Katanya. Lalu Pinocchio dilemparkan ke laut dan tenggelam di dasar bahari. Kemudian peri tiba untuk membantu Pinokio. Dengan sekuat tenaga beliau berenang hingga kesannya tiba di pantai. Pinocchio membawa ayahnya pulang dan dirawat ayahnya hingga sembuh. “Papa, mulai kini saya akan mematuhi semua perintahmu dan saya tidak akan membolos dari sekolah lagi.” “Aku akan pergi ke sekolah dan berguru keras” kata Pinocchio. Tiba-datang bersinar cahaya muncul di sekeliling mereka, “Pinocchio, Kamu harus menjadi anak yang bagus.” Peri menyampaikan ketika ia muncul. Kemudian beliau berganti Pinocchio menjadi anak insan. Mr Geppetto dan Pinocchio sungguh bahagia dan mereka berterima kasih kepada peri.
